• Coordination

Penggabungan antara dua kalimat lengkap yang setara posisinya. Kata sambungnya disebut coordinator yang mengkoordinasi agar kedua kalimat tersambung dengan sesuai.

• Subcoordination

Penggabungan dua kalimat lengkap dimana satu kalimat bertindak sebagai independent clause dan kalimat lainnya sebagai dependent clause. Kata sambungnya disebut subordinating dimana satu kalimat menjelaskan kata lainnya.

=> Contoh kalimat coordination sering di sebut "FANBOYS" 

Contoh : I had to clean the floor as a punishment for making a mess.

2. And : Menghubungkan ide sekelas dan sama

Contoh : I like fishing and hunting

3. Nor : Menghubungkan dua kalimat negatif.

Contoh : She doesn’t eat meat, nor does she drink milk.

4. But : Menghubungkan ide sekelas namun berbeda.

Contoh : I like to eat fish, but not to catch them.

5. Or : Menghubungkan dua pilihan sekelas.

Contoh :Do you want to drink tea or coffee?

6. Yet : Menghubungkan ide sekelas namun bertolak belakang.

Contoh : It’s sunny yet cold.

7. So : Menghubungkan akibat pada sebab.

Contoh : I didn’t get enough sleep last night,so I’m so sleepy right now.
