1. What is business research? And to what extent has research been used in the industrialized world so far?

Business research is a systematic process that includes searching, collecting, and analyzing information or data with the aim of finding, prove, and developing knowledge, so that it can be used to help make a business decision, solve a problem, or have a deep understanding of a phenomenon related to business.

Business research is certainly useful for help make a business decision or managerial decision, for consideration in determining solutions to problems in business, as well as helping organizations, companies, entrepreneurs in evaluate performance, quality of products and services they offer, operations, etc. For example, the results of research that have been carried out are used as for evaluation of organizations, companies, entrepreneurs, and MSMEs regarding labor productivity, budgeting, pricing, or the market potential of their businesses, so that they are be better, more effective and efficient than before.


2. How do you think about and the role of research in your job/profession?

For students, previous research is certainly useful for us, as a reference in conducting further research, and also useful for students in finding credible sources of information for further research. Research is also useful for students in conducting examine and research on theories and phenomena that occur, and helping students to provide solutions for solving these problems and phenomena to the community and related organizations. In this context, business research is useful in helping organizations, companies, MSMEs, entrepreneurs, etc., to evaluate their performance, products, services, etc.


3. How do you find a problem in the research that you will do later?

To find a research problems, I will find it by looking at the recommendations of previous research which are usually found in the suggestion. It means I will looking for a research problems by reading and understanding other people's journals, research reports, or theses. In addition to, I'll looking for a research problems by observations, attending seminars, discussions, and reading reference books related to the research topic to be carried out.


4. Why is theory and information very important in conducting research?

Theory and information are important things in conducting research. Information is important in conducting research because information is a results from data processing, and describes an existing event or fact. Theory is also important in conducting research because theory is useful for clarifying the scope of variables, predicting and guiding to find facts to be used in formulating hypotheses and arrange research instruments, and also to controlling and discussing research results that can be used in providing suggestions. In addition, we have to use the theories that relevant to the research problem being carried out.
