Coordinating conjunction is a word that connects words, clauses, or phrases in a positive, negative, or neutral way. In general, when talking about coordinating conjunction, we remember the acronyms "FANBOYS": "For", "And", "Nor", "But", "Or", "Yet", and "So". From the acronym "FANBOYS", "for", "and" and "so" are generally used to reinforce one's argument, because it is positive. "Nor", "but" and "yet" tend to be negative and are used to contrast things. Meanwhile, "or" is neutral, because it offers alternative choices that can be good, bad, or both.
